According to investigators, deputies were called to the scene around 12:46 a.m. following reports of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they found the victim, identified as Cecil Pomeroy Jr., unconscious in the parking lot outside the establishment.

Officials said the investigation revealed that a verbal confrontation reportedly occurred before the situation escalated into a physical fight. Authorities allege that Tyrone DeShawn Washington of Culloden, West Virginia, struck Pomeroy multiple times, causing injuries described as life-threatening.

Pomeroy was transported to Thomas Hospital for medical treatment, but despite efforts by emergency responders and medical staff, he was later pronounced dead. His death has left family, friends, and members of the community mourning the sudden loss.

Following the incident, Washington was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and malicious wounding. The case remains under investigation as authorities continue gathering evidence and reviewing the circumstances that led to the deadly confrontation.
