Friends, family, and members of the community are coming together to celebrate the life of Ava Gillies following the heartbreaking news of her passing. Ava’s loved ones have shared details of a Celebration of Life ceremony, inviting everyone who knew and loved her to gather, remember her, and honor the beautiful person she was.
The Celebration of Life will take place on 7th September at 2:00 pm at St Lawrence’s Church, Rosedale Abbey. Following the service, friends and family are invited to continue sharing memories and celebrating Ava’s life at The Coach House, the village pub.
In keeping with Ava’s personality and the joy she brought to those around her, her family has chosen a special dress code inspired by her own words from a birthday party invitation. Ava’s playful message encouraged guests not to hold back, joking that the theme of “DON’T GO TOO CRAZY” was actually a request for everyone to be as wonderfully and creatively over the top as they could comfortably be.
Her words reflected the spirit many friends remember—a person full of energy, humor, warmth, and a love for bringing people together. The celebration will be an opportunity not only to grieve her loss but also to share laughter, stories, photographs, and memories of the moments that made Ava so special.
Ava’s family has welcomed all who wish to attend, creating a space where friends, relatives, and members of the wider community can come together in remembrance. They have also shared that details regarding a memorial fund will be announced at a later date.
A private family cremation service will take place on 8th September.
The family has expressed gratitude to Ava’s friends for sharing photographs and memories that help preserve the moments of happiness and connection she created throughout her life.
As loved ones prepare to say goodbye, they will carry forward Ava’s laughter, kindness, and unforgettable spirit. Her memory will continue to live on through the many people whose lives she touched and the love she shared so generously.
Forever remembered, Ava Gillies will be celebrated for the joy, friendship, and light she brought into the world.
